Just another Proxxon CNC conversion

Just another Proxxon CNC conversion

At first I needed something to drill holes on my home made PCB-s.

Small Proxxon 50E seemed like a good start.

But drilling from hand was so boring, so I decided to bought Proxxon MB140/S drill stand

And in no time it was bored to :)
So next was XY table Proxxon KT 70

And that was good for a while. Then I was thinking about letting computer do the job for me, but I did not have equipment nor knowledge to do needed adjustment. My college Darko Jordanić then decided to mount
X axis motor

Y axis motor

and completely rework Z axis

I just connected those motors to simple drivers from ebay

drivers

Connected drivers to LPT port, started LinuxCNC and the fun has started.

Later I bought better PROXXON – IBS/E drill

With this mill I learned so much about CNC specially about CAD and CAM programs few samples what I did with mill

I you want to make good PCB you need to use a probe to auto level GCODE so I had a few experiments :)

But simplest was working the best, I just connected alligator clips to cutter and one pin on LPT, connected GND to PCB, when cutter touches PCB it close loop and get point in space. For PCB that worked perfect, and that lead me to

3D scanner :)

As Im member of Radiona makerspace in Zagreb I often show my CNC.
On Dan-D we had task to scan 3d objects, so I have used my CNC and with LinuxCNC and Blender to scan a key

key

in the meantime Ivica Zdelarec was working on drawings of CNC, and now finally so the others can build it.

But still something was missing, in radiona we bought some small 3d printer and I have decided to add print head to CNC and to try printing something.

I have ramps drivers, Marlin firmware, for bed heather I have decided to use silicon heather

but the first arrived was to small so now im waiting for a bit bigger one.

Here are some adjustment and testing result from my new 3d printer
